A busy week for Fortuna and a lot of headlines on the front-pages of national and local newspapers kept journalists busy and they had a lot to report.
The annual club meeting was held in front of more than 500 club members and instead of completing the supervisory board by filling the two vacant seats, the chairman, Dr. Ernst retired due to a miss of loyality of his board colleagues.
He got standing ovations anyway and will hopefully return to his club duties as soon as possible as the voting was delayed and will be held later this year.
Apart from club politics, a huge supporters demonstration was planed before the vital clash vs Dynamo Dresden against police despotism.
Two weeks ago, Riot Police had surrounded 250 Fortuna Supporters and held them long enough and made it impossible for them to watch the match vs Union Berlin, wich drew - by the way - 27.000 Spectators and is the new record for the nationwide Division 3.
Finally there is new rumours around the club. Newspapers are reporting, that there is an israelian trade man who wants to invest money into the club, whose debts would be around 10 mio € so far and would also bring german ex international Lothar Matthäus as Manager.
Matthäus unfortunately has a better reputation as lover of very young women, rather then beeing a good football trainer.
However, football was played as well in the LTU-Arena, when Fortuna entertained Dynamo Dresden. Fortuna had to win this match to keep their chances to reach the play offs and the easterners still needed 3 points to make sure to avoid relegation.
Attendance was about 14.000 this time in the arena (2.500 from Dresden) saw a finally lucky but deserved 1-0 victory what still gives the club ervery chance during their last few matches - and here are a few impressions from the ground and before the match ....
